... Germany?
I'm a senior, with graduation in less than a month. College had always been the plan after graduation, and Germany was nowhere even near my radar. So where did it come from?
After extensive scheduling issues last year, I saw an open seat in the German
200 class. The counselor said it wasn't an option, as I hadn’t taken German 100. In addition, I was already a fourth-year French student.
I told him to sign me up.
I studied over the summer and made do. A couple months into the class an alumni visited, having recently returned from Germany. He had gone there on a scholarship, and when later pumping out college applications, I
tossed caution to the wind and applied for the same one. It was sent off with a healthy dose of skepticism, and yet after a somewhat lengthy process, I received an affirmative response.
So.
I'm going to Germany(:
I'll be going for a year on a scholarship, repping the U.S. through the Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange program. I'll use this blog to keep a tab on my adventures throughout the year, and look forward to sharing them!
:)
